The Welgo service is operated by WELGO.

WELGO places the protection of personal data at the heart of its missions and the services it offers you. 1 - How does Welgo protect personal data?

Welgo is committed to taking into account the protection of your personal data and privacy right from the design stage of the new services we offer you. To ensure security and guarantee that your rights are respected and properly exercised, measures have been taken to protect your personal data.

2 - What personal data does Welgo use ?

When you use our Welgo service, we process the following personal data:

  • Your identification and registration data (name, first name, contact details, means of payment, etc.)
  • Your personal space access data (password, login, cookies, etc.).
  • Data identifying the terminals used to access our services (e.g. MAC address, IP address, etc.)
  • Customer service and satisfaction tracking data
  • Reaction data to targeted advertising proposed to you
  • Bicycle geolocation data for anti-theft purposes and to provide subscribers with trip statistics, and bicycle usage data for maintenance purposes.
  • Personal data required to create a rental contract with our M2M financing company.

We use your data for the following purposes in particular:

  • Contract performance
  • Legal obligations
  • Legitimate interests (among others, IT management, legal, security, analysis and improvement of our services and offers, understanding your expectations, measuring the performance of our advertising campaigns).

3 - What is the purpose of the data collected ?

Welgo undertakes to collect only the data strictly necessary for the provision of the services subscribed to. In the event that optional data is requested, Welgo will clearly inform you as to which personal data is necessary for the realization of the subscribed service and which data has been voluntarily provided by you.

  • Personal data is collected directly from you and is only used for the purposes for which you have been informed.
  • Personal data is used to offer you other services, if you have agreed to receive commercial communications.
  • Our bicycles incorporate a geolocation system, enabling continuous communication of the bicycle’s position. Geolocation data is used to trace stolen bicycles, to analyze the level of use of bicycles, the need for repair and maintenance, and to analyze bicycle movements for research purposes in an anonymized manner. Unless otherwise specified, the data collected is mandatory; otherwise, the service cannot be provided.

4 - To which departments or companies are personal data communicated?

Data may be transmitted :

  • Welgo’s internal departments: departments responsible for the execution of the services subscribed to, in particular customer service, sales administration, etc.
  • Welgo’s external service providers: technical service providers, including subcontractors.
  • Our financing partner M2M FINANCEMENT.
  • To Welgo’s commercial partners, after informing you in advance and allowing you to express your choices by ticking a box.

Can your personal data be transferred outside the European Union?

Welgo processes all your personal data within the European Union (EU).

5 - How long does Welgo keep your personal data?

The length of time we retain your personal data depends on the service you have subscribed to.

Welgo undertakes not to retain your personal data beyond the period required to provide the service, plus the retention period imposed by the applicable rules on legal prescription.

6 - What are your rights regarding your personal data?

You have the right to exercise with Welgo the rights provided for by the current regulations applicable to personal data, subject to meeting the conditions:

Right of access: you can access your personal data processed by Welgo.
Right of rectification: you can update your personal data or have your personal data processed by Welgo corrected.
Right to object, particularly to receive commercial communications: you can express your wish to no longer receive commercial communication from Welgo or request that your personal data no longer be processed.
Right to erasure: you can request the deletion of your personal data.
Right to restriction: you can request the suspension of the processing of your personal data.
Right to data portability: you can request Welgo to retrieve your personal data in order to have control over it.
To exercise your rights, you will need to provide proof of your identity. Welgo undertakes to respond to your requests to exercise your rights as soon as possible and in any case within the legal deadlines.
